Global Time Attack is bringing a new class to the competition in 2027!
Import Masters is a brand new GTA competition class created for the Japanese and European performance cars that helped build the time attack and tuner communities.
From Honda Civics and Mitsubishi Evos to Subaru STIs, Nissan 350Zs, BMW E46 M3s, and other eligible platforms, Import Masters gives an earlier generation of performance cars a dedicated place to compete.
Two divisions. One goal. The fastest lap.
Import Masters will feature two separate divisions:
Import Masters Boosted — For eligible turbocharged, supercharged, and nitrous-equipped vehicles.
Import Masters Naturally Aspirated — For eligible vehicles competing without power adders.
Built for the Cars That Started It All
Import Masters uses a 2012 model-year baseline, with approved continuation models extending eligibility for certain vehicle generations.
The class combines serious performance potential with a rule set designed to preserve the character of these cars.
Key features include:
Engine modifications and approved engine swaps, with no V8 or pushrod engines permitted.
DOT-approved treaded tires with a minimum 60 UTQG rating and no maximum total tire-width restriction.
Aero modifications including front splitters, canards, and rear wings within defined limits.
Interior weight reduction while retaining the majority of the dashboard.
Street-level safety requirements, with additional protection required for certain modifications.
No professional drivers.
Modern transmission technologies and certain drivetrain modifications are restricted to maintain the intent of the class.
Who Can Compete?
Import Masters is intended for traditional production-based import performance vehicles, with eligibility determined by GTA’s published rules and approval process.
Some newer continuation models are permitted, but not every vehicle built before 2013 automatically qualifies.
The Import Masters rules are now published for 2027.
We encourage drivers, teams, and shops to review the complete rules and start preparing their cars for the upcoming season.
