NORCAL vs SOCAL. LET’S SETTLE IT.

SoCal Drivers Club @socaldriversclub has officially challenged Northern California’s time attack scene to a two-round battle during the 2026 Global Time Attack season.

SDC drivers from Southern California will face off against NorCal teams including Turn8 Racing, Lightspeed, and SpeedSF.

Two tracks.
Two classes.
Two rounds.

🏁 Street Class
🏁 Limited Class

Points are awarded to the top 10 finishers in each class across both events.

Round 1
May 30–31
GTA Thunderhill
East 3 Mile Bypass

Round 2
Nov 14–15
GTA Finals – Buttonwillow
CW13

At the end of the Finals, the top scoring driver in each class takes home the SDC vs NorCal trophy.

This rivalry challenge runs separately from the official GTA Championship and is open only to SDC and NorCal drivers.

Global Time Attack and Hyper Attack are excited to announce a new partnership to grow time attack competition between the United States and Puerto Rico. @hyperattk

Hyper Attack is building its competition structure using the Global Time Attack rulebook as the foundation, creating compatibility between both series and making it easier for drivers to compete internationally.

Through this partnership we’ll be working together on:

🏁 GTA x Hyper Attack Cross-Border Challenge
Drivers competing in both series will receive special recognition.
📊 Combined competition opportunities
Opening the door for drivers from Puerto Rico to race in GTA events and for mainland teams to experience racing in Puerto Rico.
✈️ Driver Travel Support Program
Helping teams navigate the logistics of racing internationally.

The goal is simple:

The second round of TIME ATTACK TF will take place March 29th at the iconic Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, utilizing the same 4,304-meter configuration used by Formula One in recent years.

The current lap record stands at 1:47.715, set by a VUHL 05RR driven by Rodrigo Echeverría. This impressive benchmark has remained unbeaten since September 2022, becoming the ultimate target for the fastest drivers and top race teams in Mexico—and a formidable challenge for international competitors.

Spectators at this TIME ATTACK TF event will experience far more than just on-track action. The event will also feature an exciting car show, a high-energy drift exhibition, and a wide variety of food and beverage options, all set within one of the most legendary racing venues in the world.
