Global Time Attack
Import Masters Class Rules
(2027 Edition)
Overview
Import Masters is intended for traditional Japanese and European import performance and tuner vehicles consistent with the origins and spirit of Time Attack.
The class is designed to provide a competitive home for an earlier generation of production-based performance cars while limiting newer vehicle, transmission and drivetrain technologies that are inconsistent with the intent of the class. The technical requirements below define what is permitted within Import Masters. All vehicles remain subject to the GTA General Rules, GTA Track Safety Minimums, technical inspection and GTA Staff approval.
Any questionable modification, vehicle, engine swap, transmission, component or other item not specifically covered within these rules must be submitted for clarification and approved in writing by GTA Staff before competition.

Divisions
- Import Masters — Boosted: Vehicles using turbocharging, supercharging or nitrous oxide as the permitted power adder.
- Import Masters — Naturally Aspirated: Naturally aspirated vehicles using no turbocharger, supercharger, nitrous oxide or other power adder.
Vehicle Eligibility
- Vehicles must be mass-production, road-going vehicles originally sold by a recognized manufacturer and equipped with a government-mandated VIN or equivalent.
- The standard Import Masters eligibility cutoff is model year 2012 and older.
- Meeting the 2012 model-year requirement does not automatically establish eligibility for Import Masters.
- GTA may exclude a vehicle that meets the model-year requirement when its factory performance level, drivetrain, transmission, electronics, production status or overall design is inconsistent with the intent of Import Masters.
- GTA may approve a vehicle newer than model year 2012 when it is a continuation of an eligible vehicle generation already in production during the 2012 model year and does not represent a significant technological or performance departure from that platform.
- A shared model name or chassis designation does not automatically establish eligibility beyond model year 2012.
- Tube-chassis vehicles, open-wheel race cars, factory-built race cars, kit cars, club-racer cars made street legal, OEM production-based race cars, bodies-in-white and vehicles originally sold solely for competition are prohibited.
- Limited-production or specialty vehicles, supercars, hypercars and exotics as determined by GTA Staff are prohibited.
- All Import Masters vehicles are subject to GTA Staff approval.
- Vehicles not specifically addressed by these rules or the published eligibility lists must be submitted to the GTA Rules Committee for approval before competition.
